"How would a trip to Borders be?" Jenna asked softly once Matt steered his car down the highway. The tension that was wound around her heart broke loose once they proceeded to go farther down the road. She looked down to see his hand on the compartment case, carelessly, probley out of habit, driving with the other, his eyes off of the road. It was a frame of mind that most vampires had, considering they could easily convince someone else to pay for the damage or just pay for it themselves. She, herself, did it too, but Jenna didn't mind it at all, it made Matt look less uptight than she knew he probley was. She stretched her hand over the soft seats and placed it on his non-driving hand, feeling no warmth there as usual. Her bright golden eyes flickered towards him to read his expression. His face showed nothing, just like Brad's. It was pretty long story with Grace, Brad, and Loren, a confusing one at that. She wondered how she would tell him, wondered if he would resent Grace, or even her for not informing him sooner of what was going on. But as she stared at their two hands, Jenna knew that he would understand, relate somehow. "I bet you're pretty confused right now," Jenna spoke thoughtfully aloud, her eyes locking to his as she saw trees whiz by on the other side of the dark car window. Jenna dropped her gaze and focased on the road, knowing that Borders was just around the corner.

She smiled as Matt drove up the highway towards the Borders store. She had gone here with Grace most days, closing her eyes and letting her fingers slide along the books' spines as she walked down the aisle. Her favorite section contained just about everything: romance, adventure, suspense, all of the great things about books in general. To her pleasure, it resided next to a small circle of cushioned chairs and tables with the best veiw out a window ahead. Reading there was great. It took her mind off of all that was happening around her, as if she was in a translucent bubble that only she could see, around her, book gazers were replaced with the characters she had grown to love and she was sitting on a cloud, watching them from above. She snapped out of the reverie to feel the car pull into the parking lot, coming to a gentle stop in a parking spot near the door. Borders was slow as usual during this time of evening, the lingering people shuffling towards the check out counter and yawns forming on their mouths after a long day of venture. A few late-nighters stayed, mostly couples, their content sighs echoing on the pale brown carpet and wooden floor. Jenna watched all of this through the glass as she slipped out of the door to Matt's impressive silver car. She closed it with a bang, stepping onto the sidewalk and waiting for him with her hands behind her back thoughtfully. An overhead light battered, its yellow glow making her shadow jump from side to side on the cement. A clerk looked up from her desk and nodded at them, a welcoming smile spreading on her mouth.

Matt drove swiftly down the highway, obeying Jenna's wish to visit Borders. He himself had never been there yet, though enjoyed reading so it was a mystery to himself as to why he hadn't gone until now. From what he's heard, it was a great place to read and a nice place to meet up with friends. Hopefully they'd be able to have a peacefull moment here, away from the stress of everything that seemed to be going on now. The tension was wearing down on everyone; he could see it in their eyes and the way they all acted. Things were tight and tense now; not the happy and calm it had been when he and Brad had first met the girls. Everything seemed to be falling apart. Coming out of his daydream, Matt realized that he wasn't even paying much attention to the road. When you're going over 100 people tend to get out of your way. He'd had years to perfect driving without even really paying attention to the road, and now it came almost too easily to him.

Feeling the touch of Jenna's hand over his own made him wake up even more, and he looked up at her. "You must be so confused right now," she said. Oh, that's right, Matt thought mentally, returning his gaze to the road as he pulled into the parkinglot at Borders. She doesn't know that I know yet. Once the car drifted to a stop in one of the many parking spaces, Matt sighed to himself and slid the keys out of the ignition. Opening the door, it swung up instead of out, he locked his car and made his way around to where Jenna was waiting for him. Taking one of her hands in his, he led them inside where he was greeted with warm welcome smiles from the clerks at the counter, as well as a calm atmosphere created by the low sunlight and fireplaces, along with the many book shelves and quiet reading people. This could be a place he could get used to. If he could find a book here that he hadn't read yet, that is.

Jenna's pale hand almost felt warm as she let Matt lead her into the bookstore. The store was pretty dim apart from the occasional overhead lights that made her want to shrink back into the shadows again. City lights danced across her slender figure as she passed the huge windows, the glow of headlights making shadows appear across her face. As they traveled deeper into Borders, she looked around to recognize the little markers like the nonfiction section off to the right and Grace's favorite on her left. That meant they were just a few feet away from their secret sitting spot. She squeezed Matt's hand gently, whispering softly, "Come on. There's something I want to show you." She took a sharp right, walking down an aisle with a variety of history books. Jenna could faintly scent a human smell, much to her liking but she held back from taking in anymore of the smell due to temptation. She bit her lip as Jenna made it to the ending of the section and looked back and forth.

A middle aged man was leafing through a geography novel a few rows down and grasping his shirt sleeve was a little impatient child, her golden locks dangling down her back and put up in a big pink bow. Her eyes were a light blue, as crystal-like as the stick on studs on her ears. Jenna smiled sweetly, automatically seeing that the little girl was somewhat frightened at their appearance: like a small deer posed to run from the hunter stalking it. She clamped down her mouth to keep from drinking in the delightful scent and proceeded farther, into a tight hall and past a door that said keep out. The dark brown door closed after them with a small clang as she looked back to make sure Matt was still behind her. She saw the flash of his black hair in the darkness and smiled to herself. "Just a little farther and we're there," she whispered, desperately hoping the little girl hadn't decided to take a wrong turn down the hall following them. Jenna shook off the thought as she placed her foot on the floor of the upstairs room that she and Grace had grown accustomed to. They had found this place over the years, to which they found out the builders of Borders had accidentally made it too big, allowing for the janitor's closet to be bigger than expected. A huge window was there too, a few cracks in it from various debris from the storms of Seagull's Point. It was still as beautiful though, at least to Jenna. The pair had moved all of the equipment to the side and put a few things in the corner for their convenience. The janitors didn't mind one bit, being too tired to do anything with it.

Jenna let go of Matt's hand and walked over to the blankets and pillows stacked in the corner. Coming up closer, she could see they were coated with dust. It had been over three years since she or Grace had seen this place. It had grown on her heart and she was glad she could share it with Matt. She turned around to see Matt standing there. "What do you think?" she asked, groping around on the ground to carry the covers to the floor across from the window. A small glow of sunlight lingered on the horizon, like a beautiful signal from the heavens. She stood on the blanket for a minute, her shoes off, waiting for Matt's answer. The big ball of fire miles away shone on her skin, leaving one side a pretty golden glow and the other in complete shadows.

Matt gave up the lead to Jenna after hearing that she had something to show him. What surprised him was how long it took to get there. He'd suspected that she merely wanted to show him a book or something of that nature, but he wasn't expecting this. Following her quickly through quick turns and aisles of books, he dodged humans left and right as they weaved their way toward the back. Spotting an elderly man with a young child made his smile, but the look that the young girl gave him made the smile disappear. It was the look of fear. But fear of what? Matt never did anything to that girl; this was the first time he'd seen her. It was that natural evasion humans felt around them. It was coded in their DNA to be afraid of his kind. The little girl was afraid of something she had no idea about. The fear of the unknown; man's worst nightmare.

He wasn't able to think very long about the small girl, for Jenna still had a hold of his hand and she was entering a dimly lit hallway behind a door that said "Keep out." Still being pulled down the hallway, they walked up a few stairs. "Never knew this place had an upper story," he commented, arriving on the other side of the dimly lit hallway. The scent of humans here was almost nonexistant here, so obviously they hadn't been here for a while. It did smell... Musty, however. Like this part of the store was less unkempt than the rest. And yet it gave it a sort of homy feel to the atmosphere, making him feel automatically more comfortable.

The pair arrived in a small, almost-dark room that was filled with dust. On one side of the room were pillows and blankets stuffed into a small corner, all seeming like they've sat there for years, while on the other side was brooms and mops; janitorial supplies. Looking out the single window in the room was an overcast of the town, complete with a sunset in the distance. With orange sunlight cascading lazily through the window and spilling out onto the floor, Matt's eyes adjusted quickly to see a blanket and JEnna standing before him. "What do you think?" she asked, looking expectantly at him. Matt smiled back at her. "It's cute," he decided. "Never knew a place like this existed in this building."

Skylar stalked behind the rest of his coven, his feet trying to take him in the opposite direction but his mind telling him to stay with them. Loren and his sly self had convinced even him that all of this was a good idea. He knew that it was the ultimate way of getting the Klein coven back but he didn't want to hurt Jenna, or Grace for that matter. He hated the vampire who had ruined Loren and Grace's relationship. From what Loren had said, this old vampire was still trying to win her back like a pest who wouldn't go away. Skylar realized it must be hard from Loren's point of view, to not blame it on Grace for going from one boyfriend to the next but Jenna shouldn't get all wrapped in her daring sister's decisions. Course, he felt a little mad at her for choosing this other vampire's best friend as her boyfriend and not Cole. From what he had heard, Cole deserved her more, but Skylar knew that Cole was putting it on himself more than ever. All of this ran through his mind as they approached a corner to turn before they came to the very place where Jenna and this new vampire's friend were. They could be easily tracked, vampire scents ran low through this town. Skylar looked at Cole and Meg's backs as he walked slowly behind them. Loren was ahead, mumbling to himself about something, but Skylar couldn't be sure what. Skylar, himself, wondered what had made him have such a craving for this kind of plan, what Grace had said or done to him.

They turned the corner to see a lit up sign above the glass windows. A lamborghini lingered in the front parking lot and a small car. The second must be of the clerk's who was sleeping on duty. Her head was plastered against her desk and her back rose up and down from steadied breathing. He clamped down his mouth, it practically watering form the impulse to drink her blood. It would help him to relax on a night like this one. His resistance showed as he shut his eyes and then reopened them. The clerk was still there but his craving was gone. The feeling left him like a whoosh of fresh air. His coven stood at his sides both of them obviously preparing themselves to hold off what was coming next. Loren was on the other side of Cole, up against a wall beside the glass. The couple could be coming any minute. Skylar's mind buzzed with constant thoughts of Jenna and what her reaction would be once it happened.

---------

Jenna smiled as she relaxed on the blanket. It was almost like she was asleep. Her eyes were closed shut, her mind still awake and running but her whole body still. Matt was beside her the whole time as they watched stars start to appear in the desolate black sky. Her hair was splayed out behind her, and easy breath escaped her almost frozen lungs. She sat up and put her hands across her knees, a small smile playing on her lips. Jenna glanced over at Matt, her golden eyes looking at his closed eyelids. She knew he could hear everything she was doing but it almost seemed too serene for that, almost too calm and quiet. They hadn't had time like this since Grace had come home upset. It was nice to be with her loved one again, at last with no inturuptions. She let her legs fall down and crossed them easily, a half smile appearing on her face as she picked up Matt's hand and started to trace the lines on it.

Loren strode into the dimly-lit Borders, firelight from the fires on the other side of the room bouncing off of him as he made his way. The Briggs had come up with a great plan, and honestly he was surprised. This actually would work out. His curiosity had driven him to meet the three vampires, and when they began talking it seemed that they had a common enemy. Working together, they'd be able to eliminate them. Really, the only one he was after was Brad; his long time rival. But it wouldn't hurt to get back at Grace for choosing Brad over himself. After all of these years, Loren had never been denied in such a way as that. No one denied him. He never loved Grace; this was true. The entire thing was an act; simply made up to cause Brad pain. After Brad found out, Loren expected to leave her; but instead it was the other way around. How touching... He thought with a sneer and he glanced over his shoulder at the other three. The scent of Jenna and her pathetic excuse of a boyfriend trailed all the way to the back. They'd be out soon. And with the added help of the Brigg's numbers, would be able to get her separated.

-----

Matt lay, with his arms crossed behind his head, beside his loved one as the two of them watched early night stars start to appear and dot the darkening sky with small amounts of lights. Not much one for being a guy who likes sceenery, he closed his eyes and simply enjoyed this moment more than anything. It had seemed like an eternity since he and Jenna had last had any alone time, and this moment was just perfect. It was peaceful, the only light came from the moon and stars outside, and there were no interruptions this time. Last time it was Grace that had interrupted them, yet she had a good reason to. That was during the whole Loren thing. Just thinking about that human drinker's name brought a spark of anger to the vampire. How dare he just show up like this? Before Matt could get any more upset with that fact, he felt Jenna's had on his, tracing the lines on his palm. He opened one eye and smiled up at her, since she was sitting now instead of lying beside him. He sighed and closed his eyes again, yet the smile was still there. "If only I could go to sleep... This would be the perfect moment. I can only imagine what I'd dream of..." he hinted, cracking open one eyes again, his grin getting wider. Yet, despite this wonderful moment, he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong. Something bad was going to happen.

PostSubject: Re: Evening Read   Evening Read Icon_minitimeSun Sep 06, 2009 11:38 am

Megan walked into the bookstore, too many thoughts in her poor head. The plan they had come up with was not flawed, in fact she had seen that it would work. Jenna and her love we're here, she could smell the faint scent of the Klein coven at the doorway. She looked at Loren up ahead, and she briefly wondered how he had convinced all three of them to act on their anger. Cole had been easy, his hatred for Jenna now influencing his decisions. Skylar and herself had been harder to convince, and even now she was unsure if what they we're doing was really worth the trouble. Wouldn't it be easier to head back home, let these feelings die down for about fifty years, and then come back? But then, that was her meek side speaking. She was with this coven, and would do anything for them whether she really found it neccesary.
She imagined the triumph she would feel when they completed their mission. A happy feeling would come as she saw the shocked faces of everyone when she proved she was not always weak, or quiet, she could be just as damn fierce as any other vampire. Megan subtly traced a faint bite mark on her arm, remembering the pain and anger she had felt over a century ago. Was that same feeling of betrayal what Cole and Loren felt right now? If so, she would use all her old rage and helplessness to fuel her emotions now. No one should ever feel that. She looked down at her arm now, the silvery crescent scar a reminder of her past life.
She took a step towards Skylar, and for a moment she began to worry. What if somehow he, no, she meant her coven, was hurt? She clenched her fist, now anger at herself for worrying more than the Klein coven filling her. She was not a strong fighter, but by god she was fast, and speed was what she would use. And then her premonitions would help if anything went astray. They had it made. Grace and Jenna, and their mates, deserved this, Loren had said. Megan forced herself to believe that, not to question it any longer.

Walking with his coven to Borders, Cole felt his anger build and build until all he could think of was hurting Jenna as much as anything would allow. Now, to a normal person, being rejected wouldn't have been that bad. Even for a vampire it wasn't that differnt from being rejected as a human. Yeah it hurt, but there was always more people out there. But for a vampire whose power was to get whatever he wanted, being pushed away was the worst possible thing you could do. Cole had once considered using his ability to make her love him; he had even tricked himself into thinking that, after a while, she would truly love him. But he couldn't bring himself to do something so sick, and wrong. Everytime he would have kissed her or held her in a embrace, he would know that it was all a lie. So, that is why he had accepted so readily to Loren's plan. The oppurtunity was just to good to pass up.
Cole's hand punched out to push open the bookstore's glass door, almost making a hole appear in the transparent material. If his temper hadn't been so enflamed, he would have noticed, and probably laughed, at the scared expressions that had appeared on all the customers faces when Cole had come in. It take them long to exit the shop after that, not wanted to be blown up or held hostage.
It didn't take him long to find Jenna's and her boyfriends scent trail. He would never forget her scent, even after she was gone. As he flashed past the shelves full of glossy books, not caring if his coven was following, a new thought came into mind. From the moment the plan had been created, Cole hadn't given the boyfriend a second thought, but now jealousy started to seep through. Just because he wanted to see Jen still in the final sleep of death, it didn't mean that he couldn't envy and loath the vampire who had caught the heart he had so longed for. An evil excitement captivated Cole's system, now eager to meet and possibly destroy Matt.
He didn't have to wait long to encounter his new found enemy, the disgusting sight greeting his eyes as he turned around the corner. There they sat, a romantic picture, the male vampire sitting so close to his Jenna. It only took him a second to react, flying over to the corner, and grabbing the male up by his shirt. With a extreme amount of energy, he flung Matt against the opposite wall.
" Having fun," Cole spat out.

Why would this feeling not go away? Matt had no idea what was wrong, but he couldn't fully enjoy this moment like he should be doing. It just seemed like something was wrong, or something was going to happen. But what? Everything was going great right now. They got Loren out of the picture, Brad is finally talking to Grace again, and he's finally alone with his love. What could possibly be wrong? But before he could do anything, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He didn't even have enough time to turn around and see who it was before a great force made him cascade into the opposite wall on the other end of the room, creating a large hole in the wall where he hit. Sliding to the ground, he quickly got to his feet and let his golden eyes adjust to see another vampire in the room with them. This was one he'd never seen before, but it was obvious that he was angered and was persistant, and was not going to leave without a fight. Matt's first instinct was to protect Jenna. That alone made him jump into action. He only just caught the voice of the newcomer before Matt flung himself across the room and delivered a punch straight to the other vampire's face, sending him a good ways back with the impact. Stepping in front of Jenna, he stood in a half-crouch, his front lip curled in a feral snarl. "We were, actually, before you came," Matt snapped back in a dangerous tone. "You're outnumbered here; just leave us alone and maybe I'll let you out of here intact."

-----

Loren watched as Cole stormed straight to the back; humans watching with fear written on their faces. All of the customers left as soon as they heard a loud crash at the back, but only the clerk stood, her face frozen in terror, as she stood frozen behind her desk. They'd have to deal with her later. Loren followed Cole to the back, and was just in time to hear Matt's retaliation. Throwing a glance to the right of him, he saw a large hole in the wall; more than likely from the first crash he'd heard. "Actually," Loren said casually, his eyes still looking at the hole in the wall. Matt had turned his head to see the familiar being behind him, and Loren immediately locked gazes with him. "I'm afraid you're the one that is outnumbered right now." Using his not-so-secret power, Loren froze the male vampire in place. "Now you wouldn't mind us borrowing the fine Jenna there, would you? Just for a little while," he added with a sneer on his face.

Jenna looked down at her love's face, studied the expression of half bemusement and suspicion. Her eyebrows pulled together, puzzled as to what he was thinking about. Just as she was about to ask him, she saw a shadow shimmered up the stairs and grab Matt to throw him against the opposite wall. Cole's face was outlined with moonlight and there were shadows on his face. She couldn't see his eyes well enough to know what he was thinking about, coming into the room without invitation and just throwing her boyfriend. She quickly stood, her mouth open in surprise. "Having fun?" Cole's voice seemed to echo in her mind before her thoughts were focused slapping his pale face back to reality. She made a motion to step forward when she caught site of Matt in the corner of her eye. She leaped backward, a look of confusion on Cole's face before Matt hit him with full force.
"We were, actually, before you came," Matt's voice rang out through the silent darkness. "You're outnumbered here; just leave us alone and maybe I'll let you out of here intact." Jenna could of hugged him but decided to save it for later. He quickly jumped in front of her in a defensive position, a snarl producing on his mouth. Jenna's head pounded as she heard footsteps up the stairs. There were more. But Why? the question thumped in her mind and wouldn't leave when she saw Loren's figure emerge from the shadows. A sudden breath intake left her feeling like she would've fainted as a human. Why was this one vampire involved with everything terrible. He must of been one mischievous child when he was human. Her upper lip raised instinctively as he took a step forward, speaking, "Actually, I'm afraid you're the one that is outnumbered right now." Jenna could spot two other shadows making there way behind Loren and she soon identified them as Meghan and Skylar. How could they? They had nothing against her.. she hoped.
Loren's voice made her mind race as she realized Matt's form was frozen in front of her. Loren's eyes were locked on him in a terrifying way that she knew was his power. "Now you wouldn't mind us borrowing the fine Jenna there, would you? Just for a little while." A horrific feeling sank in her stomach and Jenna thought she was about to puke. The only thing she wanted more to do than punch Loren until he was limp was to fly away with Matt. To spread they're newfound wings and fly away from the damn Loren forever.
"Actually," Jenna snapped briskly, "I would mind." Her feet carried her out from behind Matt and she crouched, ready to spring on the first vampire that made a move. If she had to fight to the death to stay here, so be it. Jenna would be ready for whatever happened.

------ (a little power play below)

Skylar filed in line behind Meg as they walked up the dusty stairs. Both had heard the crash. Both had heard the murmur of voices on the other side of the wall. For Skylar, it was all a kind of blur. He wanted to be indifferent to the plan as long as his coven was okey and well. Inside, he couldn't help but feel sorry for Jenna and even her boyfriend. He wouldn't want someone coming in and doing this when he was on a date with someone like Meg or anouther sweet nice, vampire. All of a sudden his eyes were following Jenna's form as she crouched down, her face determined and even a bit proud looking. He stood behind Loren as if Loren, himself were the boss, as if he was the new leader. Skylar let that be for the time being, not wanting to look like the head of the operation in case things went badly for their side. After Cole got his revenge and his coven got all of the anger out of them, then they could return to their home in London, at ease for now.
But Skylar wasn't going to let his coven slaughter any of the Klein coven. He knew he couldn't watch his friends die when he himself could've stopped it. His conscience was already telling him he wasn't supposed to be in this plan. He just stood there, waiting for someone to move. Skylar's hand reached next to him and he took Meg's hand. He knew it must be a little frightening for her espeically. His eyes glanced in her direction but then they strayed back to the action once more.

( powerplayed just a little bit )
Having already delt with Matt, Cole turned his burning stare on Jenna. It was almost comical how afraid she looked. Her fear was suddenly like an addictive drug to him. He'd have time to instill more of it in her later, but it wouldn't hurt anybody if he cheated a little bit now; well maybe it would hurt her, but that was the point.
Turning back to see how her sweetheart was doing, Cole was only able to see him flying across the room, fist out, before a throbbing pain sent him careening into a bookshelf. With a snap of wood, the rectangle snapped in half, sending Cole sliding into a pile of books. It wasn't long, though, before he collected himself, only a little worse for wear, and jumped up.
"Actually, I'm afraid you're the one that is outnumbered right now." The deep, smooth voice of Loren cut into the thick of the fight. "Now you wouldn't mind us borrowing the fine Jenna there, would you? Just for a little while," He continued, having already used his power to freeze Matt in his tracks. Cole looked to Loren with a new found respect; he had mentioned his power to freeze but being told and seeing it was something totally different.
"Actually," Jenna retorted back to him, "I would mind." That was one thing Cole had always admired about her. She never completely lost herself, no matter how bad the situation. And what was even better, she could even stay calm enough to talk back. With a smile, Cole took Loren's freezing of Mat as a que. Right now, the girls attention was on the dark vampire, so she wouldn't notice Cole if he came at her from behind. With the quietest step he could manage, he silently stepped over the debris and sea of books. Taking only a few more steps, he reached out his arms and swiftly made as if to embrace her. His arms, circling over her, held her steadily. But he knew Jenna's strength, so he directed his gaze to Loren.
" A little help here," Cole grunted, as Jenna thrashed away.

Megan flinched only slightly at the loud crash she heard, looking towards the noise. She watched as Cole attacjed the boyfriend, and as Loren came up to assist him. Her eyes notceably widened as the guy Loren had called Matt froze in his tracks. The coven's new alliance had of course mentioned this in their plan, but it was quite strange t osee it happen right before her eyes. Soon Jenna crouched angrily, ready to fight. Surprisingly, Meg admired her a little for her feisty and determined personality, something she would probably not be able to achieve. Pity began to make its way into her thoughts, taking away all the sureness and false confidence she had forced herself to feel before. This wasn't right, and Megan didn't think she could do this for Cole or her coven, no matter how much she felt she owed them. She wondered if they still had time to back out, abandon this, and again she realized how much of a coward she was acting like, even if it was for the better.
Megan felt Skylar's hand take hers, and for a moment everything seemed okay. Shockingly, she grasped his hand firmly, not wanting to let go. He could only reassure her so much though, and she was back to worrying and guilt as Cole grabbed the thrashing Jenna, making her wonder if you truly loved someone then you would cause someone that much pain. She glanced up at Skylar briefly, conveying all the pain she felt by doing this in her gaze, hoping he would realize how she felt, all those horrible feelings and curse words that were spilling in her mind. She wanted out, but surely they couldn't stop, couldn't back out now, no matter how wrong it was?

(I'll post I guess... kinda powerplayed.. >.< )

Jenna watched for Loren's reaction, whether the snob expression would return to his pale face or if a sign of absolute retreat would cross it. The second option Jenna knew wouldn't happen, obviously. She probley had that expression on her face. She scanned the room for Skylar and Meg's reactions and then glanced at Matt who was as frozen as ever. His eyes shifted towards her and she could see deep within them, like to golden pools of water. They showed bravery, anxiousness, and the thing that scared Jenna to see in them was fear. She was sure Matt would say the same for her. She was crouched down staring at her loved one, the moment feeling like the earth took a big sigh and let everything pass. Maybe the other vampires could just melt away like they were in the afternoon sun, like the wicked witch of the east and her water.

THe moment was rudely disturbed by someone as she heard the creak of the floorboards beneath their feet, sneaking up on her. She knew it was Cole but he was already right behind her and she would be too late in turning around. She did anyway and was surprized by Cole's arms reaching their way around her as if they were going to make up. Surely he knew her better than that. Jenna pushed her hands against his chest and pushed him back easily, her vampire strength helping her to knock him against the wall as she turned to see Loren's glance toward her.

Loren, out of his preipheal vision, could see all that was going on around him. Cole sneaking up behind Jenna, Skylay and Meg appearing, being no help at all at this moment. It didn't look like they were fully with this full proof plan, and if Loren could, he would have rolled his eyes. Cole here was the strongest of their coven; he had so much potential but was being held back by them. Almost as soon as he thought that, Cole embraced the striggling Jenna and was asking him for help. "You know I can only bind one person at a time, right?" he asked, keeping his eyes locked with Matt's. Matt was their biggest threat at the moment; he could do the most damage. And though they only wanted to get the two separated, and freezing Jenna wound be easier; Matt was the strongest, and could do a lot of harm. "Matt's of no use now; get the girl out of here while I'm giving you the chance."

----

Matt struggled hard against his foe, but couldn't break the hold. He couldn't even move his eyes away from the dark red gaze of Loren's. Though he could clearly see and hear what was going on around him, he couldn't do anything about it. Loren's power was just too strong. He wanted to punch this vampire's face in. All of theirs. If Loren even so much as blinked and broke the hold for only a fraction of a second, one of these vampires was going to die. Jenna... he thought desparingly as he saw her being captured within the arms of the first vampire. He couldn't do anything. He felt so helpless. He couldn't move, and his love was being kidnapped right in front of him. The hate he felt toward these vampires grew and soon reached a boiling point, making a tidalwave crash through his mind. He just had to wait for his chance. Then one of them was going down.

( Ok im just going to act like He still has jenna in his hold. She can edit later )

Jenna's thrashing movements were starting to become harder and harder to keep under control; if there was one thing that suprised Cole about this girl was how much strength she had. Her frail and innocent nature was just a cover to the heartbreaking harpy that she was.
Gritting his teeth together, he clutched Jen tighter to him, his unknown to many muscles were now quite noticeable. "You know I can only bind one person at a time, right?" Loren said steadily with a hint of aggravation. With a sigh, Cole mentally scolded himself for forgetting such a crucial bit of information. It was now his job to take car of the girl who had ripped out his heart. And if he failed? Not only would he hate himself, he was pretty sure Loren wouldn't be happy in the slightest. "Matt's of no use now; get the girl out of here while I'm giving you the chance." Loren continued, his lethal looking gaze burning into Matt's
Nodding his head in a quick jerking motion, Cole proceeded to drag his struggling burden over to the door. But, as he stood a couple bookcases away, he felt something missing. Oh, yes.
" It's time to say goodbye. You don't want to be rude to your boyfriend," He spat out the last word, voice dripping with a hate so strong. Jerking her head around so she could see her love, possibly for the last time. The moment must have been horrible for her, and that was probably the reason Cole couldn't stop smiling. She was finally getting what she deserved.
Getting impatiant, Cole used his extreme strength to drag her down the almost endless walls of bookcases. He could feel the effects of exerting this much energy as he pulled her out through the bookstore's door. Passerby stared, with concered eyes, as a tall, darkly handsome, man came out dragging a thrashing, but pretty, young looking girl. Some even were seconds away from calling 911, up unitl the dark man turned his dark eyes on them. That was all it took for them to get across what he was implying. 'You do anything, you die.'
Most left after that, so Cole was free from that worry. His black Italian sports car sat a couple yards away, and hummed to life as he extracted one arm away from his death grip on Jenna, to hit the car's start up button. Slamming the girl down, hard in the back seat, he was quick to hold her down by her slender neck.
" Now listen here, darling," Cole said in a sickly sweet voice. " I can play nice if you do. It would make it so much easier if you would just sit back here, with little fuss. You knew one day I'd come back for you, so don't act all astonished that your perfect little life isn't so perfect anymore. I've been quite civil up to this point, but I promise I can become quite nasty. For instance, if im forced to chain you up like the disgusting creature you are, then I will. But I swear I will do everything in my power to make sure your dear sister's last moments are as painful as possible. You know I can do it. I can make her feel like she's burning, or that she's being torn apart little by little. And the best part, I'll make you watch. I don't think you've ever heard you sister scream like I can make her scream," Cole stated, his breathing somewhat irregular. Switching back to his sweet voice, he continued.
" So, you see sitting still for just a couple minutes seems so much better than the alternative, doesn't it? I'll even promise you I'll make it quick for Grace. Maybe I'll even let Matt live. Do we have a deal," he finished, an expectant look in his cold eyes.

(I'll edit my earlier post later... too lazy >.< lol)

Jenna struggled with everything she had. Cole was going to get it once she was out of his arms. They were as strong as iron and not too easy to move considering she was a slightly younger vampire than he was. She could feel no heat coming off of him, no sweat to show that he may grow weary of forcing her to move on, nothing. Maybe if he saw her eyes then he would let her go. Those innocent eyes Jenna used at Grace when she wanted blood as a newborn. Grace, being the persistant, hard-headed vampire she was, wouldn't let her, but Cole had to be different... didn't he? She couldn't swivel her head around in time to not get carried toward the door. At the last second, she could feel hesistation. Something inside Jenna stirred. Was he going to let her go just like that? did he think that this was all too much? Of course not, she scolded herself for such hope as he came to a full halt. She felt his hand snake onto her head and snap it in the oppisite direction. As a human, the amount of force he put into would have probley broken her neck but all it did to her was make a gasp come out of her mouth. Matt was crouched there, in Loren's control and had no hope to save her.
" It's time to say goodbye. You don't want to be rude to your boyfriend," Cole's harsh voice reverbrated in her head as he started to walk on. A sob started to form in her throat and her mouth, but she just swallowed it down. I love you, Jenna mouthed to Matt, for her mouth couldn't speak. It felt as frozen as the ice that had appeared on Christmas each year when she was human. Unlike at Seagull's point that had warm, but rainy weather. Her golden eyes reflected everything she had feared. Anxiousy, dread, and rage. All overflowed into her two solid gold speckled eyes as her site of Matt was gone and she could see a twister of books and wood in her vision. Unusually, it was all a blur, unlike what a vampire would usually see.
She wanted to scream to all the vampires. To tell them to come and deprive Cole of his unjustice. But a fact made a shiver go through her spine and down to the tips of her toes. She couldn't speak. It felt as if that sob was stuck in her throat. Maybe when she was back home after the others came and got her, she would let it out, release all of her troubles on Grace as Grace would do with her. But she wouldn't here. She couldn't let Cole see that side of her. Jenna knew she would look as frail as a dove. She needed to look like an eagle now, not easy to catch, hard to contain. Her struggles came more harder as Cole walked out of the glass doors. She wasn't going to go. No matter what they did, she wasn't. She would be as hard-headed as Grace but that was still too hard.
One of Cole's hands released the grip but she could hear a beep out in the parking lot. His car. She recongized the sound immediatly. It was almost memorized because it was the time that he left after she had said no. He had pushed the button, gotten in, and shut the door with a bang. His car was gone within 2.6 seconds. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, remembering it clearly. Once the moment passed, Jenna tried to turn her head. She was desprate. If she had to bite at him, it wouldn't bother her a bit; she had been wanted to ever since he threw Matt and even before that. Jenna could feel Cole run to his car and opened the back seat door to stuff her in. Now was her chance. Before she could scramble across the backseat and out the other door, his hand was around her neck and her head was up against the carseat. Her golden eyes looked up towards his as he opened his mouth to talk.
" Now listen here, darling," Cole's voice was ironicaly sweet and she wondered why he was talking like that. Her thoughts were immediatly changed in the smug face she saw appear. "I can play nice if you do. I don't think you've ever heard you sister scream like I can make her scream." As each word was spoken out of his mouth, Jenna's mouth fell open in dread. She relaxed her grip on the seat and she sat there in shock. It tore apart little peices of her heart ever time she opened his mouth and the halfway mark was almost completed, or so it felt like. All she needed now was Matt, to come and free her from this insane vampire and to hug her until her heart overflowed with happiness and all her troubles were wiped away from a small kiss. Her little fantasy was ripped away when she caught site of Cole's gold and red speckled eyes staring holes into her head. He expected a weak reply from her, as if she really thought he could get to Grace with Brad standing in the way. There had to be no way.
"Get your filthy hand off of me, jerk," Jenna snapped. Her unhappiness of having her lovely night snatched from her was slowly appearing on her face. She swatted Cole's hand away from her throat and she brought her knees against her chest as she wrapped her arms around them. This wouldn't be the right time to try to escape. Escape would come for her later when they accidently forgot about her and she climbed out the window with it enriching her soul. The thought of Grace and Brad crossed her mind and she hoped that Loren hadn't found other vampires to take down Grace and Brad. A mental picture filled her mind of Grace, fear streaked across her lovely pale face as Cole snuck up behind her. "I'm not scared of any threats that come out of your mouth, Cole,"Jenna mumbled, "but don't you dare touch Grace, Brad, or Matt... if you do, you'll regret it for the rest of your short-lived life."

(EDIT: I just noticed that today I accidently forgot to type a few n'ts so if you see something that looks weird either ignore it or politly edit this post if you can. )

( Yeah I'm posting )

Cole gave Jenna his classic smirk, but with, this time, a twisted sort of smile. He could tell that his threats had hit a nerve with his captive. So full of smart alleck reponses and sharp looks, but when he'd put her family into the mix he could tell that she knew he wasn't bluffing.
" Such big words for such a girl in your positon," Cole said moving his finger back in forth, like how a school teacher would scold a dissobediant child. Seeing that she wouldn't be causing much trouble, for now at least, he slammed the door in her pale face. Making quick work of getting around to the drivers side, he climbed into the intimidating car's leather upholstered, front seat.
Taking the key, that had been clenched so tightly in his fist that if he had been a human it would have easily broken skin, Cole jabbed the metal object into the igniton and started the car. The familiar rumble of the engine, as he revved it up, was sort of a calming sound for him. He'd let her get to him which was not preferable in his place. She was a smart little devil and he knew she wasn't going to give up without a fight. Not really needing to keep his whole focus on the road, Cole was acutely aware of his backseat passenger.
They were half way to Loren's dwelling when Cole decided to disrupt the silence. Bugging Jenna and watching her squirm was just too much fun.
" I know you think that your sister's little boyfriend will be a great obstacle if it comes to me killing her, which I hope it doesn't. Nonetheless it's obviously a exciting possibility, isn't it? Loren in particular has a most interesting plan for....who is it again...oh, right, Brad. There is quite a large amount of hate there. And, personally, I'm putting my money on Loren," Cole said with a dark laugh
( continued at Loren's house )
